The lease is signed

Ok... so one stressful thing is done.... the lease for my new apartment is all signed. Security deposits and all other fees are IN... and shell and I are ready to roll. Well... we might need some furniture, but other than that we're pretty much set.

In other news, tomorrow is my last day of work. CRAZY! Tonight I'm packing for Boston and will be there for about a week. I can't wait to just RELAX. It's gonna be fun. And Ani on Friday night.. yay! I do love me some Ani.

Then home to OG, packing, home to H-town, mom's 50th bday on Sat and mothers day on Sun (talk about a double whammy), then back to OG sun night to finish packing, moving that monday, back to h-town on Tues for the eye dr and starting WFUV on wed!!!

That's a lot of driving.. but I'm excited. So it's ok :)



I'm slightly hyper right now at the thought of having 10 days off and then starting a job I'll actually love going to. YAY :)

My eyes need a break

I've been staring at Delta Flex (the kick ass 70s DOS traffic software I use) all day and I'm going a bit crosseyed.... so here's me taking a breather.

I'm going to do JLK's logs through FRIDAY (as in I'LL NEVER HAVE TO DO ANOTHER JLK LOG AFTER TONIGHT... hopefully)... and then head home.

I'm gonna curl up and read my new Nicholas Sparks book until I pass out.

And I'm super excited about that :)


And tomorrow I go sign my new lease!! I'm excited to see the place... as I haven't exactly seen it yet. hahaha.

So that's the story. This week's main focus is to get shit squared away at work. And pack up my winter clothes to bring home to h-town.

It's not raining today so that's a treat. I plan on heading to Starbucks or something when I'm done here to finish working on some notes for work and plan out my next few weeks. I have a lot to do.

So Wednesday night Ar and I went to Basil T's for dinner because I have 150 bucks in gift certificates there -- and am moving soon. So I figured I should use some of it.

Dinner was nice. The service was a bit slow (as in we waited like 45 minutes for our entres, but ya know.. it was free so I'm not gonna complain all that much).

Fast forward to the ride home. We're driving down 35 and here's the conversation:

Ar: Oh! Can we go to that sex shop?
Me: (acting like I have no idea what she's talking about) Huh? What shop??
Ar: You know, the shady one that you thought might have closed down
Me: (relieved - as I did in fact think it closed down) Oh, yeah sure. If it's still open we can go (thinking in my head... too bad its not open!!)

And there it is... big neon sign. ADULT SHOP! MUST BE 21 TO ENTER! All the windows boarded up and everything.

And this is no Condom-nation on South Street... this is like shady ass, sketchy sex shop.

So we walk in. I'm a little more freaked out than I thought I would be. As the only other sex shop Ive been to was in fact Condom-nation on South Street which is just a joke really and has more bachelorette party stuff... and doesnt have boarded up windows or anything like that.

So we walk in and a good 75% of the shop is movie rentals. Are there really that many tapes to rent? Holy shit!!! We totally ignored that part. And went off wandering in the 'toy' section. So whatever, we were talking and just looking around. I did a lot of laughing, picked up shit being all 'the hell???'

What wasn't funny was the sheisty old man who bought some nice porn. EW. I mean I know people watch it... but I don't want to see a middle aged, lonely man renting it. Cause yeah... just... ew.

So then he gets his stuff, Ar and I are still in the 'magic bunny' section and then the woman who was at the counter starts talking to us. The conversation goes something like this:

Ar: Where?
Me: (thinking 'does Ar have somthing boston-y on? why is she asking us this?) Uhm.. no I've never been there

Bondage tat woman: Well you've got to go there... they have the best sex shops ever! I mean this one is ok for Jersey, but there they have dressing rooms and everything! I mean my ex-girlfriend and I were there... and that's where I bought my first strap on. They had so much to chose from... even double sided dildos!

Bondage tat woman: And everyone is so nice there. We stayed at some all woman hotel, but it was so homey and great....
Ar picked up some massage oil at this point

So yeah... that was me in the sketchy ass sex shop. It was pretty entertaining. And don't worry... no lube (or anything else for that matter) was purchased.

Though I am happy I went in that store before moving back North. Because ... well I secretly always wanted to go. Just to see what was inside the closed up, shady ass store.

How Lucky am I???

...that my girlfriend is the cutest ever and drove to jersey last night after 6 days of working crazy ass hours... tired and exhausted...

She got to OG at like 11ish.

And it was so good to see her. It's been WAY too long (and yes -- anything over a day constitutes as long... and its been over a WEEK!)

She was talking about work in her sleep the poor thing. But I took a bit of a long lunch (an hour and a half) and went home and we went out to lunch.

It was great.

So yay :)

Stupid Money

So moving is expensive. That's all there is to it.

Hopefully I'll be able to find someone to take over my apartment -- and pay the $900 security deposit -- so I'll get that money back. Because that will basically cover the new security deposit... and that will be good.

And I really do hate stressing about money... but that's just how I was raised. My mom is an accountant. I grew up learning to never miss a payment on ANY bill or else youll never be able to buy a house. Literally.... that's what I thought, ya know? So now I freak about things.

But I'll be ok... I do know that. I'll just have to seriously budget. Put a few bucks away every paycheck to try to rebuild SOME sort of savings. And eat pb&j everyday. hahaha. Well I won't really have to do that - just watch my spending. That's all...

Happy Lifehouse Day

So I just found out lat night that apparently LIFEHOUSE is coming to the station today! That should be fun :) Hopefully they aren't total primadonnas like Alanis was. And maybe I can even watch them perform in the studio. THAT would be fun. haha.

Anyway... that's all to report for now. I don't really feel like working quite yet. But I'll get there soon enough. I have TONS to do today and am hoping to be productive.

I wanted to get up and ride this morning... but that just didn't happen. Oh well, there's always tomorrow! It's supposted to be like 75 today and in the 80s tomorrow!

What a weekend!

I'm finally back in OG after my North Jersey/Bronx tour this weekend. But it was a lot of fun.

I'm exhausted today though. I'm hoping to clean up my room a bit tonight. Watch the L Word from last night and then watch 24. I haven't watched in so long I'm going to be LOST.

If I get to bed at a reasonable hour I'm hoping to ride to work tomorrow because its going to be BEAUTEOUS! (yeah i dont think thats a word... oh well haha).

Here's the rundown:

Tonight -- leave work, head to Hoboken. Have birthday fun there with Shell and Ashy. Sleep there
Tomorrow -- wake up, get situated (hopefully shower and dry my hair). Head to the Bronx around 2ish. Get ready for the GO! thingy at Megs. Catch a Ram Van into the city. Have GO! fun there. At some point make it back to Meg's to crash.
Sunday -- wake up. Drive to Madison to hang out with Glo for the night as Aunt Jan is going awawy.
Monday -- get up at the ass crack and do my old commute from Madison to work.

Whew... its going to be FUN but exhausting!!

14 Days and Counting....

So I did it today....

I gave my 2 weeks notice...

I quit...

The memo is out and everything. April 28th is officially my last day here at Millennium Radio New Jersey.

And I really am super excited. After a long few days of deliberating -- I know I made the right decision.

WFUV... HERE I COME!!!! I can't wait!

So I'm going to take like a week and a half off. Go to Boston. Get some Drs. appointments out of the way... and just relax. Then start up at the FUV in May.

Shell and I are looking for an apartment... and if ANYONE knows ANYONE who wants to move to the Central Jersey area... I need someone to take over my lease starting June 1st. It's 600/month. Really nice.... and TWO blocks from the beach. Come on... how could you beat it???

Ok... I have tons to do before I leave here tonight. But... yeah... this is definately a good thing.

How easily everything can change....

Without really getting into details... its pretty crazy how one small thing can change so much in your life.... ya know? Like one phone call... thats all it takes.

I haven't really slept in the past few days. I've been your typical emotional girl. I'm all out of it.

But hopefully everything will be setteled soon...

All the snow is gone!!

It's true... I'm in Boston... and... there's NO SNOW!!!

It's actually NICE out. Nice enough that I can wear flip flops... and yesterday I wore a short sleeved shirt! I love it! I just LOVE this weather! It's the best!!

I feel like this weekend FLEW by. Which sucks, but I've had lots of fun. Friday I got in around 10ish, Ar and I went to Barnes and Noble for a bit and then headed home. Yesterday I took Ar to work then went back to her apt and went back to bed for an hour. Then got up, showered, and headed to her shop. Then I rode the minute man trail which is right there at her shop. It was SO nice to ride again. But I'm definately not in riding mode... my ass hurts and I was riding so slow and basically it kicked my ass. But either way... I rode and thats the important part.

Then I went to the mall and got some really good deals. Which is always exciting :) And later Ar and I went out to dinner with people from her shop and another couple they all know. It was really fun... and the food was GOOD. I got some sort of pulled BBQ chicken sandwhich... holy crappers it was REALLY delish. I mean maybe I was just hungry because I hadnt eaten all that much ... but either way - it definately hit the spot :)

Then we took the T home which took forever but was a fun adventure and headed to bed. And now I'm just chillin at the Bedford library... and then I think I might ride again... even though I'm exhausted. Which I don't know why but I'm super tired. I'm hoping that if I ride that will wake me up. Or perhaps I'll just have to indulge in a DC :)


Ok... only 34 minutes left and counting.

Oh... and I'm at the same computer Ar was at when she posted the other day and said everything was set to Chinese or Japanese or something... and its REALLY bizarre. It keeps throwing me all off! hahaha.

It's 5:08 and I'm done everything that needs to be done today. Realistically there's still a kajillion things I could do right now... but my 6 logs are printed, sent and merged... it's all very exciting!

Why? Because in 22 minutes I'm going to DART out of here and head straight to Boston. I haven't been there in like 3 weeks! I'm quite excited about the nice weather that is predicted as well. And well naturally I'm excited to see miss Arleigh :)

Ok... I'm gonna start packin up here, straighten up my desk and be on my way!

Not as far as I thought

Seeing as it took me like 20 minutes to ride into work... and that its LESS than 4 miles.... I got to work super early.

But I'm wearing SANDALS and a skirt today!!!

And I already did some riding for the day.

It's gonna be a good day!!!

Ocean Ave

So I got home from work today at a reasonable hour (despite my shitty ass day there) and decided to get my bike out of the basement and ride since it was like 65 degrees and still light out. So I rode down Ocean Ave... and wow.. I felt like I was in a movie. Because everyone was out and about.... walking on the boardwalk, rollerblading, biking, walking the dog... whatever. Kids were at the playgrounds. The angry high school kids were on the beach in their little cliques... it was just all so picturesque. And I loved it!!

I rode like 10 miles and then it started getting dark (and I started getting hungry).

Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to ride to work. I'm SUPER nervous about it though. Especially since I need air in my tired. Hmph. That and I have to bring a change of clothes and my lunch and then just my wallet and stuff... and I've never ridden whith a bag before. I'm sure I can do it... but ya know... it's just that whole fear of the unknown thing.

So I'm gonna try to leave here by like 7:15ish. That gives me an hour and 15 minutes to go 8 miles (and considering I did 10 in under 50 minutes tonight I should be ok).

Aight... time to take a shower because I'm SMELLY!

Points....

So I know I've said it a billion times... that I'm going to get back to the 'points' and start watching what I'm eating to just finish this shit off and get down to my goal weight... which isnt THAT far out of reach... but still far enough to make me get my ass in gear.

So tonight I went to the foodstore and labeled everything I bought with their points value when I got home. I made 4 salads for the week to bring with lunch. I cut up strawberries and put them in litter containers for the rest of the week.

Here's whats on the menu for tomorrow (I know youre SO excited to hear abut this hahaha):

Breakfast
- small light n fit yogurt (1 point), cut up strawberries (1 point)

Lunch
- turkey and cheese sandwich on wheat with mustard and pickles (6 points)
- small salad (1 point - damn crutons arent free haha)
- small apple (1 point)

Snack
8 reduced fat nilla waffers (2 points)

That brings me to a total of 12 points... and I get 22 for the day. So I have 10 for dinner. I'm also hoping if it's nice when I get home tomorrow to ride a little. Especially since I've decied that I'm going to ride to work on Wednesday. Eekads! We'll see how that goes, but its supposed to be like 65 degrees out or something.

Ohh and I did take pictures this weekend but I'm slow and am having issues uploading them to my site... but hopefully I'll get it working in a bit.

Spring Ahead

This is a friendly reminder to SPRING AHEAD tomorrow night... and lose an hour of sleep. But it's for a good cause because now it will be light out til like 7-8ish! I love it!

And because Lou at work made a big deal on the morning show about how it sucks that we have to lose an hour of our time OFF from work and that businesses should also spring ahead and close an hour early... we got out at 4:30! It was all very exciting.

That and I went to Starbucks and got a caramel frappacino and was all hopped up on caffine all day long.

But now I'm home and everyone is busy, so I'm thinking about putting my PJs on, and curling up on the couch with a good book.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to get up super early to go to the DMV to get a new license. Then hang out with Shell and Jimmer (yes I get to meet him tomorrow I'm so very excited) and whoever else is around tomorrow night.

Sunday if it's raining I'm thinking of seeing if anyone will go see Miss Congeniality 2 with me... cause god I love Sandra Bullock.
