Heat in Havertown....

So.... anyone who's been to my parents house in the winter knows that its ass cold. And when I say cold I mean... like sometimes its WARMER outside. Which isn't right, considering there's SNOW on the ground outside right now. But my parents have this thing with heat (it's more my dad... but ya know... they're a unit so I group them together). But my dad only has the addition heated... since thats where most of our time is spent. So when you walk IN the house is SUPER cold. And if we ever have dinner at the table in the dining room.... I practically need to wear gloves. And when you do get to the addition (which is where the kitchen and living area are), its still not WARM. But you THINK its warm because everywhere else is SO cold.

And the heat in the addition is timed... So its set for 60 (yeah... can we even consider that HEAT???) for 10p-5p. So for most of the day... the room is cold. then at 5p the heat timer jumps it up to like 65... and then at 10pm when my parents go up to bed... it goes back to 60 degrees.

So whatever... that's the wierd thing about heat in Havertown. And it's not just my parents. I know other people in Havertown who do the same thing... its like some wierd Havertown-y thing.

But anyway... so the heat in my room is actually COMPLETELY broken. So even though its set to like 60 degrees... if you touch the radiator in my room its COLD. Like not warm... but ICE COLD. So there's no heat in my room. But my dad, owning the hardware store that he does, brough home a mini electric radiator that you can plug in. So I usually crank that baby up and it gets BOILING in there. And I love it. So last night I forgot to turn it on before I went to Ds. So I got home and my room was frigid... as in I swear I could almost see my breath. But I figured I'd plug it in, turn it on and then brush my teeth and stuff and it would start to warm up (my room is the size of a very small box... it doesnt take too long to heat up). So.... I get in bed and its starting to at least get a little warm... and in the middle of the night I woke up FREEZING. Like my face was numb and I couldn't feel my hands...

So when I got up this morning... I realized that the heat was turned off. It like blew a fuse or something.

And that's my story :)

Off to have a productive day!!!

Add my parents to the list of Havertown Ice Boxes who Refuse to use Heat...

I sleep with 5 blankets and a full sweatsuit (hood UP) every night.

And I still wake up cold.

ha.

Weird.
